ISAF Safety Course
Preparation for sailing by heavy weather (theory)
Surviving bad weather conditions
Intended for:
Skippers and crew members wanting to cross the ocean and/or wishing to participate to international sailing races (ISAF offshore special regulations 6.01).
Condition(s) to participate:
Except for the knowledge of the English language, no preliminary knowledge is required.
Course material:
The participants will receive a syllabus about safety and sea survival.
Programme:
During this 1-day training, we will teach you the following:
- Heavy weather seamanship
- Weather forecasting
- Fire prevention and fighting theory
- Man over board recovery
- Ship stability
Certification:
In order to receive the ISAF Offshore Safety certificate the candidate must be holder of a RYA Sea Survival certificate
Duration of the training:
8 hours
When:
- Harelbeke on 28/2 and 01/03 - full
- Bergen-op-zoom on 11 and 12/7 - full
- Zottegem on 30/01 from 09:00 to 17:00 : 2 places available

COld and hot drinks are available during the breaks
