RYA Day Skipper Motor Practice
Pleasure boating implies quality time, adventure and expanding borders. However, knowledge and a right attitude are essential to keep it enjoyable and safe.
Intended for:
Skippers wanting to make longer but safe trips.
Condition(s) to participate:
RYA Day Skipper shorebased and RYA Helmsman or an equivalent certificate.
School boat:
A 12,3 m-long luxury yacht , yearly inspected by the RYA and the Belgian shipping inspection. All safety equipment and comfort are available aboard of this 41-feet flybridge with 2 engines of 370 hp.
Programme:
Planning and preparing trips by using sea charts, tide tables and an nautical almanac. We will visit at least 6 different yacht marinas in Belgium and abroad, and navigate on a part of the Western Schelde
The programme also includes a night trip and trip on the inland waterways (with locks). The candidates will learn to use a radar, a maritime mobile radiotelephone, a Gps and a chart plotter.
There is atleast one overnicht on board .
The candidate performsall the handling by himself/herself.
Certification:
The training for the RYA Day Skipper certificate has to be completely provided in English. The instructor permanently evaluates if the skipper is able to make safe trips together with a crew.
Duration of the training:
4 days + night exercise

Practical training: 2.200 euro

Drinks and sandwiche meal is included in the morning and at noon, diner is not included
